Chapter 55: | 055 | Magibeast

Laplace gazed at the two and sighed in disappointment. These guys don\'t seemed act like come from this world at all. They don\'t even understand what they\'re trying to tackle.

It made her wonder about how closed-off the United Navy was from the outside world. After all, their actions, mindsets, and world views were extremely different from the world\'s common sense.

"You don\'t think that giant violent beasts are part of the natural order, right? It would be stupid as the existence of these beasts would be destroying the ecosystems they are in."

Laplace calmly explained and the two looked at her with dumbfounded expressions.

Abraham and Charlotte had referred to the foreign world as naturally mystical. Things that shouldn\'t exist might exist. That was the thought process they had when tackling a problem in regard to the foreign world.

Never did they understand that while the foreign world might be mystical. It still needs to follow the natural order. If there were prey, there shall be predators.

No sentient creatures can stand at the top and dominate nature without sapience.

If they did dominate their surroundings through sentience, then there should be something wrong with them.

Laplace then continued her explanation to her ignorant friends.

"The giant creatures that are a problem to your construction effort are none other than the magibeasts. Monsters born from mana, completely unnatural."

"The magibeasts are like a plague that spreads island to island. Every island they appear on has had its biodiversity collapse. These monsters practically eat anything and reproduced extremely fast."

"Formed from the high mana density, the ones that bring them are magi from Europa. Although unknowingly as those guys hadn\'t known their very existence would cause the emergence of magibeasts."

"I have annihilated their species a couple of times when several tribes began warring against them. They sprung up every now and then like massive pests."

"So, annihilating them shouldn\'t be a significant problem to nature. You\'re practically helping it as the magibeasts are pests that don\'t give to nature."

"They only consume and don\'t even defecate what they have eaten."

With that, Laplace\'s explanation ended. Her explanation opened a whole world for Abraham and Charlotte. The complexities of the foreign world were far from simple.

The two understood that they shouldn\'t think as such.

Laplace observed Abraham and Charlotte with her golden irises. Her slitted pupils seemed to enthrall others when gazed upon. But the two were too focused on their thoughts to even see her face.

"That makes sense," Charlotte muttered under her breath and continued.

"Giant violent and carnivorous creatures that reproduce very fast. One can see them getting extinct from causing their habitat to collapse into itself."

The words of the Vice Admiral awoke Abraham from his thoughts. He looked at Charlotte and then at the smug Laplace.

"The magibeasts are completely unnatural and are harmful to the environment. They are creatures that only consume. For the protection of Crescere\'s environment, I\'ll open the way for an operation."

Abraham finally agreed with Charlotte\'s termination operation. With the words of Laplace, it would be stupid not to do so.

Besides, it was a better rationale for the operation. A harmful biological agent that causes the collapse of habitats.

No one would be reasoning against their extermination.

\'A dominant sentient species. Worse than that of sapient ones. After all, sapient species can be reasoned with. But these guys only had their instincts engraved in their DNA.\'

\'They\'ll consume without care of consequences. None of their species would even try to actively stop it as they have no motivation to do so.\'

Abraham understood the differences between dominant sapient and sentient species. A sapient one can understand their mistakes and possibly learn from them. Sentient ones won\'t even think of it as a mistake.

Their vision for the future doesn\'t go as far as half a decade.

"We will utilize both the naval and ground forces for this operation. They will be working together to clean up this far-spreading plague of creatures."

"Vice Admiral Charlotte, I\'ll be giving you authority over this operation. You can make the plans for it and are free to use resources available in our depots."

"But the operation will only be limited for a week. After that, the termination operation will conclude regardless of the outcome."

Abraham gave Charlotte the full reins for this operation. Its planning, strategies, tactics, and logistics will be handled by her.

He also gave her a time limit for the operation. After all, the United Navy simply can\'t maintain a war against some species indefinitely.

Charlotte nodded and straightened her back. She saluted the Fleet Admiral and responded with calm.

"Affirmative, Fleet Admiral. I\'ll exterminate our enemies. Await for good news." Charlotte lightly bowed and glanced at Laplace before taking her leave from the office.

As the Vice Admiral stepped out of the office, Abraham and Laplace were left alone together. It has been a while since they had a private time together.

Abraham was too busy with his job as the Fleet Admiral, and Laplace was occupied with getting educated by Charlotte about the basics of the United Navy.

From general arithmetic, physics, and biology. Charlotte was practically hitting the dragoness with major subjects of his former world.

"It has been a while, Abraham. You look good." Laplace smugly expressed while smirking at the middle-aged man.

Working for a couple of days nonstop didn\'t do good for Abraham. It was one of the reasons why he wasn\'t as energetic as before.

"I really need a secretary to help me." Abraham breathed out while slumping his shoulders. Just when he thought that he was free from work after getting transmigrated.

He was still plagued by it, and it wasn\'t even out of necessity. It was something he needed to do as he was the highest of command in the United Navy.

"Secretary, huh… That will take some time. Most people here already have busy jobs." Laplace commented while crossing her legs together. Her black stocking seemed unveiled for the eyes to see.

Abraham glanced at her legs and felt déjà vu after observing it for some time. A thought went through his mind when looking at it.

It was two words.

Thicc thighs.

He swiftly shook the slang out of his head and continued their conversation instead of gazing at some stocking-clad thighs.

"How\'s your time with Charlotte, Laplace." Abraham brought up her time with the Vice Admiral. Being taught by the second highest of command of the United Navy was an honor for any personnel in the United Navy.

Though, the dragoness might not look at it the same as the others.

"Oh, that stone-faced girl." Laplace smiled as if remembering something interesting.

"Stone-faced girl?" Abraham raised an eyebrow as this was the first time someone called the Vice Admiral with such a nickname.

"She reminds me of a stone, unchanging despite the times." Laplace chuckled.

The two then began talking about what they had gone through the past few days. A short moment of peace for the middle-aged man and the problem dragon.
